My grandma escaped from a labor camp and became a partisan fighter and my grandpa escaped from the ghetto and hid during the holocaust. I will say that the hardest thing about being in Europe is thinking about that. It occured to me numerous times over the trip and really freaked me out. I tried to put it out of my head most of the time.
